McErlean Plastering complete work on this development in February 2011. Consisting of 4 traditionally built houses as part of a developer lead scheme of social housing. 

The exterior plasterwork uses Irwin Y2 sand and forest flint stone finish, with raised bands to the window and door surrounds also using Irwin Y2 sand and white cement to complement the colour of the dash and give a traditional maintenance free finish. The interior plastering is traditional sand, cement & carlite skim finish to walls & plasterboard, bond & skim to ceilings & stud walls, using moisture resistant plasterboard in bathrooms to avoid condensation.

The biggest challenge on this particular contract was the weather, during the course of the contract Northern Ireland was experiencing some of the coldest weather conditions on record. Merely travelling from our base in Magherafelt to here was a challenge on its own. With the use of temporary heating equipment our tradesmen were able to overcome the freezing conditions & continue to plaster to keep the contract ahead of schedule.

This scheme was completed in 6 weeks which was before programme and on budget. In the post contact review stage by the main contractor the plastering work was singled out as exceptional with the contractor awarding McErlean Plastering the highest scores of any sub contractors.

Social housing projects bring within their own set of regulations and rules.
